Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne says that communal and political reconciliation are required in order to ensure the country’s development.
Senaratne has made this observation at a function at the Horana Hospital.
The Minister has said that leaders like Mahathir Mohamed, Lee Quan Yew, Park Geun-hye somehow brought about reconciliation before developing their countries.
Senaratne has criticized the manner in which the former Rajapaksa regime obtained loans, claiming that the administration did not seek World Bank loans or foreign investments, but instead made unwritten borrowings from the National Savings Bank, People’s Bank and the Bank of Ceylon.
