ikman.lk Sets New Benchmark Winning ‘E-commerce Brand of the Year 2019’ for Second Consecutive Year

ikman.lk, Sri Lanka’s largest online marketplace demonstrated outstanding performance in the e-commerce category clinching Brand Finance’s ‘E-commerce Brand of the Year 2019’ award for the second consecutive year.

ikman.lk becomes the undisputed winner of the e-commerce category according to Brand Finance’s 16th edition and annual review of Sri Lanka’s most valuable and strongest brands released recently. This year’s win sets a new benchmark for ikman.lk as the company won the coveted title when the award debuted in 2018.

This year too, ikman.lk has outshone sector peers to retain the title and claim top honours. As the most preferred and popular platform for online selling and buying almost anything, ikman.lk caters to all Sri Lankan sellers and buyers islandwide.

Commenting on receiving the award Alexander Löwbäck, Managing Director, ikman.lk said, “We are thrilled to receive our second consecutive ‘E-commerce Brand of the Year’ award.  We believe the award acknowledges our continued and committed efforts towards enhancing our online users’ interactive experience providing a unique value proposition.”

In adjudging the winner, Brand Finance conducted a quantitative research study to identify and understand top e-commerce brands in Sri Lanka through the perception and trust consumers have towards the brand.

The methodology was similar to that adopted in seeking Sri Lanka’s most loved brands. The e-commerce brands represented a separate category that was included in the consumer research carried out.

“The brand’s performance over the last two years has been extremely commendable. Adapting to the changing market needs including payment, distribution and marketing has paved the way for growth and demonstrates leadership in its category,” noted Ruchi Gunewardene, Managing Director of Brand Finance Lanka.
